Contribution work on an already-shipping AI coding agent inside VS Code, focused on extension-surface features, frontend performance and production defect resolution.

The work happened inside an established product with existing users, conventions and extension architecture. Changes had to fit the system already in production rather than replacing it with a cleaner greenfield design.

An AI coding tool runs inside the editor developers depend on. Rendering, streaming agent state and extension lifecycle work cannot make VS Code itself feel slow, and production fixes have to preserve conventions other contributors already rely on.
